Here we are, 2010 has arrived, and with it comes the winds of change.
Over the coming weeks there will be work going on behind the scenes to breathe new life into our favorite graphics forum.

Whilst graphic design will remain, it is the aim of the staff to expand nextgfx in many new directions that do not have direct links to the art world.
All i can say at this early stage is that there is going to be a forum for everyone and all topics will be included.
These changes are going to take a little while to implement but we shall endeavour to be fully up and running throught the month of January.

In the meantime, if you have any categories or forums you wish to see here at nextgfx, then please click the link below and add your suggestions.

On behalf of the staff i would like to take this opportunity to wish all members, new and old, a Happy New Year.

I'm not sure if it will be done by the end of January, but do expect changes in the near future.

There have been talks about archiving the entire forum and adding new forums for just about anything you would want to discuss. Don't fear, there WILL be a graphics section. The changes are being made due to the falling popularity of signature type graphic design and the inability for our members to discuss other topics they might also find interesting. We think that if there is something for everyone here that there will be much more interesting conversation and an overall better feeling of community.

Please feel free to suggest forums and categories you would like to see on the site.

*** We will be changing our name to better fit the new direction we're heading in. We will also take suggestions on names. If we use your name there might be a cash prize but that hasn't been decided on for sure yet.

I have a new dark skin in my posession which i will be passing to Freak to have a little play with, and i will be applying the finishing touches to a large `gaming` forum over the next couple of days.
The gaming forum has platform specific subforums to keep things all nice and tidy, stay tuned for further developments and dont forget to add any idea`s of what you want to see here at next by adding your thoughts in the site suggestion thread.

Sounds good, fellas. Personally, I think archiving the current forums would be a good step. There's just a lot of history and nostalgia there, I think it's best if we move on, but keeping it as a locked, readable thing would be cool I think.
Other than that, I think you guys should keep the forums simple and uncluttered. Maybe only have a few main forums, and consider subforums as they become necessary. Maybe start with something like: General Discussion, Graphics, and Gaming.
That's just my opinion though. You guys might have something sweet in mind that I don't know about.
If Freak created or modified a forum skin that would be the bees knees as well. This default one just won't do
Anyways, I'll be sure to visit once in a blue moon, and look forward to see what happens next.

Idk man. I feel like all those gaming forums should just be merged into one Gaming Discussion forum. The simpler the better. I really don't think those forums will get used, not yet anyway. If we get a lot of activity then perhaps we should think about adding more. That's my take anyway. Right now it seems to me that the forum is suffering from having too many forums and not enough people to post in them. If there were less forums, posts would be more concentrated, which would be good imo.

I like that idea too Shade. Simple is better. At the same time I want to make a forum for everyone. So anyone from any walk of life will be able to find something they enjoy here. Maybe not that in depth, but I want to cover some ground.

I'll be working on that skin over the next few days and we'll keep brainstorming ideas. It would be nice to get this place back together again.

While agreeing with shades idea to a degree, users may utilise the arrows on the right side to close off any forum they do not wish to visit, thus customising their needs here.
